ITINERARY
Autopia Tours: Uluru, Kata Tjuta and Kings Canyon - Day 1
3 Day Uluru Tour with Autopia Tours

Experience the spirit of the 3 Day Uluru Tour from Alice Springs (Camping), a trip that showcases the area’s most remarkable scenery and cultural stories. You’ll spend three full days seeing ancient rock formations, walking through sacred sites, and seeing things you won’t forget, including the sunrise over Uluru and the stars in the sky above the desert. This small-group trip, led by local experts, combines natural beauty, Indigenous culture, and hands-on adventure to give you a real connection to one of Australia’s most famous places.

Alice Springs to Uluru

Your trip begins with an early-morning departure from Alice Springs or Yulara (Ayers Rock Airport), followed by a drive to the famous Uluru. We’ll make brief stops at Mount Connor (commonly called “False Uluru” because it resembles Uluru) and Curtin Springs during the trip. Both locations will have beautiful views and a short rest. After that, we proceed to Uluru, where we’ll have lunch and meet people arriving. The next destination is the Aboriginal Cultural Centre, where you will learn a lot about the area you are about to tour, including its long history, stories, and cultural importance. After that, get ready for a fantastic experience as we take a guided tour of the foot of Uluru, one of the world’s most famous natural sites. Your guide will share the fascinating history behind ancient rock art, sacred waterholes like Mutitjulu, and the Aboriginal stories of Kuniya the python and Liru the poisonous snake. At the same time, you take in the beautiful sights. The walk continues to Kantju Gorge, where Central Australia’s largest waterfall is located (it flows only at certain times of year, depending on rainfall). The gorge also has sacred caverns that the local Aboriginal people utilised as a natural pantry. After this, you’ll see a beautiful sunset over Uluru, and you’ll have plenty of time to take pictures and make memories that will last a lifetime. As the day comes to an end, have a peaceful dinner at the campground under the wide-open Outback sky before going to bed.

Uluru to Kata Tjuta to Kings Canyon

People who want to watch the sunrise, get up and shine! If you get up before dawn, you’ll have a fantastic experience as we start the day at Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park to see the sunrise. After taking in the early light over Uluru, we’ll move on to Kata Tjuta (The Olgas), a stunning group of dome-shaped rock formations that make you feel like you’re in another world. You can choose to go through either the Valley of the Winds or Walpa Gorge. Both walks include amazing views and chances to be amazed. Following our time at Kata Tjuta, we stop at camp for a bite to eat before making our way to the Kings Canyon region, arriving in time to enjoy another breathtaking outback sunset. The day will end with a traditional campfire dinner, which will give you an authentic taste of life in the Australian outback.
